Venture brokers represented 4 of the top 10 DFW Retail Leases in 2013

D Real Estate Daily published more than 1,600 transactions in its DealTicker last year. We sorted through all that data—and news reports from the site—to reveal Dallas-Fort Worth’s top commercial property leases for 2013.

On the office front, Randy Cooper and Craig Wilson of Cassidy Turley represented State Farm in the area’s top two leases, for a combined total of more than 1.1 million square feet, plus another 135,000-square-foot deal (coming in at No. 7) in Irving, also for State Farm. Dave Anderson with CBRE represented tenants in the market’s two largest industrial transactions—1.1 million square feet for LG Electronics and 788,160 square feet for Walmart.com USA—both with Hillwood. And The Weitzman Group put together the area’s top retail deal, a 123,000-square-foot Kroger store at the southwest corner of State Highway 121 and Josey Lane in Lewisville.

LARGEST RETAIL LEASES

• 123,000 sq. ft., Kroger Marketplace, State Highway 121 and Josey Ln., Lewisville. The Weitzman Group represented the landlord.

• 89,282 sq. ft., Floor & Décor Outlets of America Inc., 6801 NE Loop 820, North Richland Hills. Tenant reps: Jeff Kittleson and Daniel Taylor, CBRE. Landlord: B.H. Investments LLC, represented by Greg McDonald of The Weitzman Group.

• 85,000 sq. ft., WinCo Foods, southeast corner of Old Orchard and Main St., Lewisville. Tenant reps: Don Woodbury, DWC Commercial and McGregor Converse, Jonathan Cooper, Kevie Beard and Theo Thompson of Venture Commercial. Matt Luedtke and Blake Shipp of The Weitzman Group represented the landlord.

• 53,000 sq. ft., Chris and Betsy Scheidler, 4905 S. Cooper St., Arlington. Tenant reps: Christopher Gibbons, Ken Reimer, and Katie Vance, Venture Commercial. Landlord reps: Chris Booras and John Zikos of Venture Commercial.

• 52,000 sq. ft., Gander Mountain Co., northeast corner of I-20 and S. Center St., Arlington. Tenant reps: Jeff Kittleson and Daniel Taylor, CBRE.

• 51,796 sq. ft., Fitness Connection, 2234 W. Buckingham, Garland. Tenant rep: Wyatt Russo, The Retail Connection. Bob Ginsburg and Amy Nott of CBRE Dallas represented the landlord.

• 48,210 sq. ft., Gander Mountain Co., 723 Hebron Pkwy., Ste. 24, Lewisville. Tenant reps: Jeff Kittleson and Daniel Taylor, CBRE. Landlord: RPAI Lewisville Lakepointe LP, represented by Dan Shoevlin of UCR.

• 47,916 sq. ft., Pluckers Wings Bar, Alliance Town Center, Fort Worth. Tenant reps: Ross Golman of The Retail Connection.

• 45,000 sq. ft., LA Fitness Club, 5500 Greenville Ave., Dallas. Tenant rep: John Zikos, Jonathan Cooper and Chris Booras of Venture Commercial Real Estate LLC. Landlord: Westwood Financial Corp., represented by The Weitzman Group.
